○Usage example○
■How to make boric acid dango■
[Material]
300g of boric acid, 240g of flour, [or 1 large boiled (or steamed) and mashed potato], 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of grated onion, and an appropriate amount of milk.
[How to make]
(1) Knead the above ingredients to the softness of an earlobe and make a small dango (about 2cm in diameter). If the dango is soft, re-roll it after 1 to 2 hours.
(2) Dry the finished Dango in direct sunlight for about a week (about a week in summer, about 10 days in winter) until a white powder appears on the surface.
(3) Place 2 to 5 of these boric acid balls in areas where cockroaches are likely to appear. For the first two years, replace it every six months in the spring and fall. From the third year onwards, once a year (spring) is sufficient.
■Features■
Boric acid has a specific effect on cockroaches. Onions are highly attractive to cockroaches, and cockroaches love to eat them. Cockroaches that eat Dango do not die immediately, but become dehydrated, seek water, and die in a desiccated state (they die in 3 to 15 days). In addition, the smell of boric acid will deter cockroaches from approaching the area, so simply leaving a powder of boric acid (sample boric acid is fine) will prevent cockroaches from approaching the area.
■Caution■
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap after work. 5g of boric acid can be lethal to young children, and it is highly toxic, so be careful not to let young children or pets accidentally eat it. Also, please place it out of sight of children and be careful not to let it become a children’s toy.
