Maxalt RPD Tablets 10mg [Class 1 Drugs]

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include somnolence, malaise, weakness, chest pain, cold feeling, palpitation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth, thirst, abdominal pain, stiffness, dizziness, hypoesthesia, paresthesia, hyperesthesia, nasal dryness, hives, itch, abnormal hepatic function (fatigability, dull, nausea), photopsia, frequent urination and decreased appetite. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

• general itch, hives, itchy throat[anaphylactic shock, anaphylaxis]
• squeezing chest pain, pressure in chest, cold sweats[arrhythmia, angina pectoris or ischemic cardiac disease-like symptoms including myocardial infarction]
• dizziness, palpitations, chest discomfort[tachycardia (in the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome)]
• muscle twitching in face or limbs, temporary lightheadedness, decreased consciousness[epilepsy-like seizure]
• sudden swelling of lips/eyelids/tongue/face/neck or in the mouth, choking sensation, breathing difficulty[angioedema]
• widespread reddened skin and multiple breakable blisters, fever, mucosal erosion[toxic epidermal necrolysis]
• breathing difficulty, shortness of breath[dyspnea]
• fainting and falling down for a short time[syncope]
• headache[headache due to excessive use of medicines]

The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

• In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (10 mg of rizatriptan) at a time, when migraine pain develops. If the effect of this medicine is insufficient, you may take another tablet after waiting for 2 hours or over from the first administration. However, the daily dosage is limited to 2 tablets (20 mg) in total. Strictly follow the instructions.
• This medicine should be taken only when migraine pain develops. Do not take it to prevent migraine pain while migraine pain does not appear.
• Take out the tablet from the package with dry hands immediately before taking it. Swallow it melting with saliva or with a glass of water.
• If there is no effect at all, do not take further dose of this medicine and consult with your doctor. Reexamination may be performed to confirm the cause of the headache.
• If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist. Sleepiness, dizziness, hypertension, vomiting, bradycardia, syncope or incontinence may occur. If several symptoms occur at the same time, get immediate medical attention.
• Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

• If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
  If you have a history of myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease, variant angina pectoris (coronary artery spasm), a history of cerebrovascular disorder or transient cerebral ischemic attack, peripheral vascular disorder, hypertension or hepatic dysfunction.
  If you are receiving hemodialysis.
  If you discontinued taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) within the past 2 weeks.
  If you are prone to epileptic seizure or convulsive seizure.
  If you have arrhythmia associated with accessory pathway.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

• Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (1 to 30 degrees Celsius) away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Since the medicine has hygroscopic property, do not open the package until immediately before taking it.
• Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you do not know how to discard, seek advice of your pharmacy or medical institution. Do not give the unused medicines to others.
