This medicine improves various symptoms of bronchial asthma, asthmatic (asthmatoid) bronchitis, chronic bronchitis and pulmonary emphysema such as cough, sputum sticking sensation and respiratory distress by bronchodilatation and respiratory center stimulation.
It is usually used to treat bronchial asthma, asthmatic (asthmatoid) bronchitis, chronic bronchitis and pulmonary emphysema.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include nausea, headache, abdominal pain, loss of appetite and palpitation. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

  • localized or generalized muscle spasm, decreased consciousness, impaired mind[convulsions, disturbed consciousness, acute encephalopathy]
  • muscle pain/numbness of the limbs, weakness, reddish brown urine[rhabdomyolysis]
  • abdominal pain, black stools, blood vomiting, melaena[haemorrhage of digestive tract]
  • respiratory distress, hives, pale face[anaphylactic shock]
  • general fatigue, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes[hepatic function disorder, jaundice]

The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • In general, for adults, take one tablet (200 mg of the active ingredient) at a time twice daily in the morning and before bedtime. For adults with bronchial asthma, 2 tablets (400 mg) at a time may be taken once daily before bedtime. It should be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • Take with water without biting. When it is difficult to swallow this medicine, take it by breaking the tablet in two at the score.
  • The dose of your medicine may need to be reduced or discontinued if you develop fever. Adverse reactions can easily occur in fever.
  • If you miss a dose, you should never take two doses at one time. Also, avoid shortening the interval between doses. Adverse reactions are more likely to occur.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
    If you ever experienced shock, convulsion or faint after taking of, or receiving injections of xanthines such as theophylline.
    If you use adenosine (Adenoscan) within 12 hours.
    If you have epilepsy, hyperthyroidism, congestive heart failure, or acute nephritis.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (1 to 30 degrees Celsius) away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you don’t know how to discard, consult with your dispensing pharmacy or healthcare provider. Do not give it to anyone else.

Precautions while taking this medicine
