This medicine lowers the blood pressure with beta-blocking activity and slows down heart rate to prevent angina attacks, and control tachycardic arrhythmia.
It is usually used to treat essential hypertension (mild to moderate symptoms), angina, arrhythmia and for prophylaxis of migraine attack.

Description

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include infrequent pulse, dizziness, rash, hives, vision disorder, foggy vision and decreased tear fluid. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

  • fatigue, respiratory distress, general swelling, cold limbs[congestive heart failure, peripheral ischemia]
  • infrequent/jumping pulse, conscious disorder [infrequent pulse, atrioventricular block]
  • dizziness on standing up, faint feeling, syncope [hypotension upon standing that comes with fainting]
  • fever, bleeding from nose/gum, bruise, subcutaneous bleeding [agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, purpura]
  • shortness of breath, respiratory distress, wheezing [respiratory distress, bronchospasm]

The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • To treat hypertension: In general, for adults, start with taking 1 to 2 tablets (10 to 20 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day; if it is not effective enough, then gradually increase the dose up to 12 tablets (120 mg of the active ingredient) a day. It should be adjusted according to age and symptoms of the patient.
    To treat angina, arrhythmia, etc.: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (10 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day; if it is not effective enough, then gradually increase the dose up to 6 or 9 tablets (60 or 90 mg of the active ingredient) a day. It should be adjusted according to age and symptoms of the patient.
    To treat arrhythmia in pediatric patients: In general, for children, start with taking 0.5 to 2 mg/kg of the active ingredient daily, in 3 to 4 divided doses. The treatment should be started at a lower dose. If it is not effective enough, then increase the dose up to 4 mg/kg of the active ingredient daily. However, the maximum daily dose should not exceed 90 mg. It should be adjusted according to age and symptoms of the patient.
    To use for prophylaxis of migraine attack: In general, for adults, start with taking 20 to 30 mg of the active ingredient daily, in 2 to 3 divided doses; if it is not effective enough, then gradually increase the dose up to 6 tablets (60 mg of the active ingredient) a day.
    Strictly follow the instructions in any case.
    To use for suppression of the onset of hypoxic spell due to right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (RVOTO): In general, for babies and toddlers, start with a low dose of 0.5 to 2 mg/kg of the active ingredient daily, in 3 to 4 divided doses. It should be adjusted according to symptoms of the patient. If it is not effective enough, then increase the dose up to 4 mg/kg of the active ingredient daily.
    In any cases, strictly follow the instructions.
  • If you miss a dose, take dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

this medicine.

Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist.

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
    If you have: asthma, diabetes, heart disease, hypotension, peripheral circulatory disorder, untreated phaeochromocytomia or paraganglioma.
    If you are in prolonged fasting state.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of reach of children. Store away from heat, humidity and direct sunlight.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you do not know how to discard the remainder, ask your pharmacy or medical institution. Do not give the unused medicines to others.

Precautions while taking this medicine
