This medicine inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis that causes inflammation, alleviates swelling/pain associated with inflammation and reduces fever.
It is usually used to reduce inflammation and pain due to rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and post-surgery/injury/tooth extraction as well as to reduce fever or pain due to acute upper respiratory tract inflammation.

Description

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, fever, itch, hives, abdominal pain, gastric discomfort, peptic ulcer, drowsiness and edema. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

  • facial pallor, hives, respiratory distress[shock, anaphylaxis]
  • sore throat, fever, fatigability, nasal/gum bleeding[blood disorder such as agranulocytosis]
  • fever, red rash of skin, blister[toxic epidermal necrosis, oculomucocutaneous syndrome, erythema multiforme, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis]
  • decreased urine output, general edema, headache[acute renal disorder, nephrotic syndrome, interstitial nephritis]
  • respiratory distress, general edema[congestive heart failure]

The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • For reducing inflammation and pain due to rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lumbar pain, frozen shoulder, neck-shoulder-arm syndrome, toothache, post-surgery/injury/tooth extraction: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (60 mg of anhydride as an active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day. If taken as needed, take 1 to 2 tablets (60 to 120 mg) at a time.
    For reducing fever or pain due to acute upper respiratory tract inflammation: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (60 mg of anhydride as an active ingredient) at a time, as needed, up to twice a day in principle. Do not exceed 3 tablets (180 mg) a day.
    In any case, the dosage may be adjusted according to your age/symptoms. Avoid taking the medicine on an empty stomach as much as possible. Strictly follow the instructions.
  • If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible when you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

  • If you have peptic ulcer, blood abnormality, liver/kidney disorder, cardiac dysfunction, aspirin asthma or its history.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you do not know how to discard the remainder, ask your pharmacist or medical institution. Do not give the medicine to anyone else.

Precautions while taking this medicine
